Hume believes that even though memory of pain is stored in the mind there will never be another one that equal the same pain because the mind stores but is unable to calculate the same amount of pain. so basically you can't feel the same amount of pain again.

I dont know if i agree with this point. I think Hume was saying that after you feel pain it is stored in your memory and even though you can remember what it felt like, the memory itself cannot produce the same feeling. I don't think he was saying that if another thing were to happen like that occurence that you couldn't feel the same pain b/c i have often felt the pain if you hurt yourself in the same way or get a stomach ache... usually you do feel the same pain that you have felt before.
Yeah Hume is basically saying what Brooke said, your mind will store the pain, but the memory you have of the pain will become faded or distorted, but pain can definetely be repeated
Yes i agree with matt and brooke. Your mind will store the pain, but with the memory you have the pain will become faded. The pains could be repeated because they are very hurtful!
