Locke's: body and mind!

In class, we discuss how locke think that our body and our mind is not innate with each other. I disagree with it, because a new born baby do not know what a 3 sided triangle is when it sees one. We are all babies at one point of our lives, all of us learn from our senses, which we use our body to help us. sure we can figure out problems in our head without the help of our body, but with out our body's sensory fuction, we won't even know what is it in the beginning!

i agree with you ally. i think that our body and mind are one. even though our senses take time to make the body react they are still one whole unite. we also develop this symbiosis gradually. for example as a baby we know nothing of the world we rely on our parents to aid us in the development of senses. i dont think that a baby can understand the thought of a beginning.

that's what decarte said also, he is saying that the baby don't know the difference between cold or hot, until someone actually teaches he or she the difference of cold and hot. but you need the body to feel and sense the cold or hot sensation. after the sensation our nerves will tell our body what does it feel like and the mind will remember it!
that's how we learn!
