Body and Mind Continues!!! pg 92
(Fire may burn our bodies with no other effect than it does a billet unless the motion continued to the brain, and there the sense of heat or idea of pain be produce in the mind , where in consist actual perception)pg 92 What Locke in trying to say here is that our bodies dont feel pain unless our brain instructs them to. Seems like he is tryng to say that our body wont follow , everything depends on what the mind says!!!

i agree with you that for most things body won't work unless the brain tells the body to because most things our body does is because the nerves that is shoot out by our brain to tell us to do these things!
Yes if you put it the scientific way . Sometimes are mind wants us to do something and we follow instead of our heart!!!
Liz, i think you're right that locke is trying to say that your body could do nothing with out the mind not even feel pain. This happens alot. I think that if someone had alot of brain damage or was paralyzed, often they have no feeling in those extremities because their brains do not recognize that part of their body.
Yes thank you for agreeing with me brooke, i do agree with that our body follows our mind like you say the paralized person is a good example
