a realization
after reading a little further into the meditation. i began to think and came to a sort of conclusion. it might be that Descartes is afraid or scared of questioning god, its as if he doesn't believe in him but at the same time does and is trying to seem respectful to his belief by calling his work "fictitious". "let us grant that everything said here about god is fictitious".

Mr. Mercado i kind agree with you after reading the end of part one i came to the conclusion the meditator(decartes)realizes that even simple things can be doubted.Like in my part he was saying what he believes is a dream and what not, than he gets confuse again and what he thought was real is again a dream. Than in your part he blames it on evil, that is deceiving him from seeing the true. He does not believe in good no God, then there is even greater likelihood of being deceived, since our imperfect senses would not have been created by a perfect being. The meditator does believe in god but is afraid and scared of questioning him.
but them if he doesn't believe in god how come he is afraid. could he have come to the realization that there is no truth in life.
I did not recall him saying that he does not believe in god. Like they say if you believe in something evil, you should also believe there is something good. Decartes does believe in god, but like i said before, Decartes is afraid of questioning himself. You are probably right that decartes has come to a realization that there is no truth in life. This only shows how confused he is about his own beliefs.
